Obamacare Phishing Alert

Security firm McAfee warned Tuesday that hackers are likely to take advantage of the rollout of ObamaCare exchanges by launching phishing attacks aimed at stealing personal information. Phishing attacks are designed to dupe users into revealing credit-card numbers or other confidential data by delivering phony links or attachments in e-mails and messages on social media sites.

Not California Dreaming

The recognition of obesity as a disease may have a significant impact on workers' compensation claims in California, a group said in a report on Thursday. The group issued the report following a decision in June by the American Medical Association House of Delegates reclassifying obesity as "a disease state."

Healthcare Reform Update

The Department Of Labor ("DOL") has released EXCHANGE MODEL NOTICES and GUIDELINES.

As required by the DOL, all employers subject to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) must comply with the Exchange Notice requirement under the Affordable Care Act. There is no exemption for small groups.
